Fluorosilicic acid (hexafluorosilicic acid, H2SiF6) is a colourless to straw-coloured, corrosive, strongly acidic aqueous solution with a pungent odour.
It is used predominantly for fluoridation of municipal drinking water, and in the manufacture of fluoride salts, water-repellent and hardening treatments, metal surface treatment and electroplating.
